Loan servicing and advisory firm Solutus has hired Gareck Wilson (pictured) from Brookland Partners as its new head of business development.

Wilson, who has a background in debt restructuring, corporate advisory, lending, securitisation and capital markets, has been hired by Solutus to play a leading role in its UK expansion plans.
He was previously a partner at Brookland since 2012, where he worked alongside managing partner Nassar Hussain. At Brookland, he was lead financial advisor to clients on commercial real estate debt restructurings and workouts in the UK and Europe totalling more than €10 billion. He also arranged around €500 million of debt for borrowers in both loan and bond format.
Prior to Brookland, Wilson was a director in Deutsche Bank’s commercial real estate group between 2009 and 2011, based in London. Before that, he was a manager in the real estate advisory division of Macquarie Capital Advisors in Sydney.
“We are delighted to have [Wilson] on board and to use his specialist skills and talents to grow our five year old business for the future,” said Solutus MD James Bannister.
“With his high level experience and wide range of contacts we are sure that Gareck will bring Solutus additional gravitas, particularly in the development of our UK business and new client service areas for the future,” he added.
