ArbreIM, Arbuthnot Banking Group’s new property investment management business, has appointed Andrew Strang, James Hyslop and Ruth Lea as external consultants.
ArbreIM said the trio would contribute to the investment and management strategy of the funds business and would also play a part in making investment decisions.
All three will sit on the investment strategy committee, while Hyslop and Strang will also sit on the governance and investment management committees.
Strang ran Threadneedle’s property fund management business for 17 years before retiring to make way for Don Jordison in 2008. He is also chairman of Hermes Real Estate Investment Management.
Hyslop has spent most of his career working in corporate finance and property for Phillips & Drew, which later became part of UBS.
Lea, who has worked in the Treasury and at the Institute of Directors, is already a non-executive at Arbuthnot Banking Group, which owns 50% of ArbreIM. ArbreIM is working on the launch of a new open-ended, balanced property unit trust.
