This latest episode of PEI Media’s Spotlight podcast series looks at distressed opportunities – or, rather, the lack thereof – that have cropped up in the wake of covid-19. While plenty of opportunistic capital has been raised in recent years, much of it at the height of the pandemic, the window for deploying those funds proved surprisingly narrow. Andy Thomson, senior editor of affiliate title Private Debt Investor, and Kyle Campbell, senior reporter at affiliate title PERE, ask what this means for the future of distressed debt investment for both real estate and private equity, in a discussion moderated by Chase Collum.
