CBRE has expanded its Specialist Markets team in London – covering pubs, leisure and healthcare – with the appointment of Lisa Attenborough as a director.

Attenborough was previously a global real estate advisor at Barclays, where she was a member of the corporate healthcare team.

Her experience includes structured finance and operational real estate. A statement from CBRE said she was already working on securing new debt deals for a number of the firm’s clients in the healthcare, pubs and leisure sectors.

She will work across the Capital Advisory and Specialist Markets teams in an attempt to combine the strengths of the two and open up new revenue streams.

In an interview with Real Estate Capital in September, Capital Advisory managing director Richard Dakin said the business unit was one of CBRE’s “best-kept secrets”. The former head of corporate real estate at Lloyds spoke of the unit’s five-year challenge of doubling current revenue.

CBRE has made a number of new hires to the team recently, including Marco Rampin as head of debt and structured finance (Europe) and Tim Ryan as head of strategic advisory, corporate finance, in June this year.

Executive director David Batchelor has run the group for the last 10 years.
