The UK was the leading market for lenders in the mid-market size range during June to mid-August, accounting for €589 million of a total of €1 billion of loans, recorded in indicative data tracked by Real Estate Capital Europe.
Out of 23 loans in the mid-market, here considered as being from €20 million and up to €80 million in value, there were 14 loans for UK-based assets. The next largest market across the 23 loans by geography was Poland, where the database tracked three issuances, totalling €124 million.
The largest sector in mid-market lending was residential, much like the trend across the wider database for the three-month period.
The residential sector also accounted for the biggest loan, which was provided by UK lender Silbury Finance, the development lender backed by Los-Angeles manager Oaktree Capital management.
