Cornerstone Real Estate Advisers Europe has continued its European expansion drive with the appointment of former Standard Life Investments portfolio manager Séverine Laffineur as head of France.
Laffineur will be responsible for originating real estate investment opportunities in France as well as sourcing capital from French institutions for investment into the firm’s debt and equity funds in the US and Europe. She will be based in the firm’s new Paris office and will report to Nick Pink, Cornerstone’s Chief Investment Officer, Europe.
Cornerstone has appointed two other country heads this year. Earlier this month, the firm poached Adolfo Favieres from HIG Capital to be its new head of Spain. In May, the firm hired Valeria Falcone, formerly with The Carlyle Group, as head of Italy. Cornerstone now has a presence in the UK, Germany, Spain, Italy, the Netherlands, Sweden, Finland and France.
Laffineur spent four years at Standard Life Investments in European portfolio management where she was responsible for acquisitions and asset management for the Polish and Danish real estate markets and led the fund management for a separate account. Prior to that, Laffineur was national director at LaSalle Investment Management for nine years and was responsible for French acquisitions for commingled funds and separate accounts.
“Following the expansion in Germany last year through the acquisition of Pamera, 2015 has been another year of major expansion for Cornerstone in Europe,” said CEO Charles Weeks.
