Barclays has hired Jessica Tomlinson to head its real estate transaction management team.
Tomlinson joins from Blackstone where she held the post of chief legal officer at Blackstone Real Estate Debt Advisors.
She was previously a director at Royal Bank of Scotland’s global restructuring group and an associate at Allen & Overy.
At Barclays, Tomlinson will be responsible for documentation and loan execution. She joins the bank next month and replaces Fiona Freeman who left to become a managing director in corporate finance at FTI Consulting.
Barclays has also appointed Sharon Quinlan as head of London real estate. She replaces Gregor Bamert who left the bank to join Aviva last month as head of origination. Quinlan was previously the bank’s head of UK regional real estate.
Tomlinson and Quinlan will report to Barclays’ head of real estate, Dennis Watson.
Barclays was one of four banks that provided a £500m, five-year facility to Tritax Big Box REIT earlier this month, helping to reduce its cost of debt by 35bps.
It was also one of three banks that recently supplied a £550m refinancing and acquisition facility to the newly proposed £960m Park Resorts Group. In August, Barclays provided £96m to Runwood Homes, secured on its portfolio of care homes and day care centres.
