Aviva appoints head of global real estate business

Aviva Investors has appointed Ed Casal as chief executive of its global real estate business. He replaces Ian Womack who is retiring. Casal is currently managing director of Aviva Investors' global indirect real estate. He joined Aviva in 2008 and has previously been chief investment officer at the firm’s real estate multi manager.

Casal is currently managing director of Aviva Investors’ global indirect real estate division. He joined Aviva in 2008 and has previously been chief investment officer at the firm’s real estate multi manager.

He begins in his new role on June 1 and will also join Aviva Investors’ executive committee.

Bart Coenraads, currently head of Aviva’s Asia global real estate multi manager, will take over from Casal to lead the global indirect real estate business. Womack retires on June 30.
