Nick Cooper, head of ING’s property multi-manager business, said he has ‘no plans yet’ for his next move after quitting ING Real Estate Select at the end of this month. Cooper decided not to move to ING’s Hague HQ as part of an internal reorganisation. ING plans to hive off its real estate management business within four years as part of a plan to split its banking and insurance operations in two, and is attempting to move all global managers to the Hague.
Cooper headed a team of 31, 19 based in London, and 12 in Hong Kong, Singapore, the US and the Hague. He is continuing as fund manager of London-listed, Guernsey-based trust ING Global Real Estate Securities. The UK Select team, run by Mark Bunney and Matt Day, are not moving and from 1 January will report to Jan Meulenbelt.
