Colin Throssell, the former head of treasury at TH Real Estate, has replaced Donald Howie as the company’s chief financial officer following Howie’s resignation.
Howie had joined TH Real Estate in May 2014, following five years based in Abu Dhabi as head of operations for Abu Dhabi Investment Authority’s real estate and infrastructure department. He joined TH Real Estate a month after the firm was launched as a joint venture between Canadian pension fund TIAA-CREF and Henderson Global Investors. TIAA-CREF acquired full ownership in 2015.
Throssell joined Henderson Global Investors in 2012. As CFO of TH Real Estate he leads a team of more than 70 people, including treasury, debt, operations, fund finance and corporate finance teams. He also sits on the company’s executive leadership team as well as operating and debt/real estate investment committees.
Prior to joining the company, Throssell worked within the real estate banking teams at Eurohypo, Erste Bank and Lehman Brothers.
In a statement, TH Real Estate confirmed that Howie had decided to leave the business and his last day was 31 March 2016: “Donald led the development of the finance functions and processes through the post-launch phase of TH Real Estate and we thank him for his hard work. We wish him well in his future endeavours.”
Farrah Brown has replaced Throssell as the firm’s head of treasury. Brown is responsible for raising new debt and managing existing loans on behalf of all TH Real Estate funds. She previously held the role of portfolio assistant for the company’s UK Property Fund.
