Oxford loses UK MD

Simon Marriott has left Oxford Properties, where he was UK managing director. Marriott joined the real estate arm of Canadian pension fund OMERS from MGPA two and a half years ago to drive acquisitions in Europe.

Kinney joins Carlyle Group

The Carlyle Group has hired Douglas Kinney from real estate placement specialist and bank Greenhill. Kinney will be a managing director.

Cornerstone forms Tokyo office with Hayes and Gensheimer

Cornerstone Real Estate Advisers opened its first Japanese office, in Tokyo, this month. Headed by Kelly Hayes, formerly at Citigroup, and Peter Gensheimer, who was at Savills, they will provide a more bespoke service to existing Asian clients and bring in new institutional investors.

Lloyd-Hurwitz quits LIM

LaSalle Investment Management’s European managing director, Susan Lloyd-Hurwitz, is leaving the firm and returning to Australia to run the Mirvac Group. At LaSalle, she had responsibility for core funds and mandates in Europe while chief executive Simon Marrison ran value-add and opportunity investing strategies. He will take over her roles.

Ian Schilling heads Invesco’s new Sydney office

Invesco Real Estate is following Henderson Global Investors and opening in Australia. It has appointed Ian Schilling as head of Australian real estate, based in Sydney.
