WEBSTER JOINS LONE STAR
Catherine Webster is leaving TIAA Henderson Real Estate (THRE) to join Lone Star’s European funds. She was head of real estate senior lending for the TIAA-CREF account in the UK. Webster is Lone Star’s second recent senior European recruit, following the appointment of Stephan Ohlmeyer as a managing director. THRE’s head of debt Christian Janssen is thought to have recruited Christoph Wagner, currently on gardening leave from BlackRock. Wagner has originating experience in Germany and previously worked at Barclays with Janssen.
TWO RECRUITS FOR AERIANCE
European debt fund investor Aeriance Investments, led by former Deutsche Pfandbriefbank director Harin Thaker, hired Steve Penny
(pictured), who joins after nine years as Deutsche Postbank’s head of credit prior to its purchase last year by GE Capital. Kevin Davidson, most recently a loan management and work-out specialist at Nationwide and Situs, joins as an originator. Aeriance is raising a third mezzanine fund and second opportunistic vehicle focused on short-term and development debt.
BARKHAM MOVES TO CBRE
Richard Barkham has left Grosvenor after 14 years to become global chief economist at CBRE. Grosvenor has promoted Graham Parry to Barkham’s old role of group research director.
