Orchard Street Investment Management is seeking more good-quality property to asset manage after winning a new investor client. Orchard Street will invest £250m of capital, including modest gearing, in UK property for the Middle Eastern investor. “Our client was keen to invest with a trusted adviser,” said Orchard Street’s managing partner, Philip Gadsden.
“Our ambition is to get invested in 12-24 months and generate some income.” Orchard Street is looking for assets with the potential to generate 6% income over the longer term. Gadsden said the new investor is the firm’s fifth – it already advises GIC on a more opportunistic UK strategy, the Railways pension fund, the BBC pension fund and wealth manager St James’s Place.
