Gadsden takes Orchard reins

Chris Bartram, chairman and co-founder of Orchard Street Investment Management, is handing over daily operation of the business to partner Philip Gadsden. From January, Gadsden, who joined Orchard Street seven months ago to work on strategy and new business, will be managing partner. Bartram will continue as chairman and focus exclusively on client work.

Ashby Capital hires HSBC man

Charles-Etienne Lawrence is joining Peter Ferrari at Ferrari’s new company, Ashby Capital, which has £1.5bn to invest on behalf of a Saudi Arabian client. Lawrence was previously vice-president, real estate finance, at HSBC and has experience in both real estate debt and equity investments.

Horgan joins CBRE as Irish head

CBRE has appointed Johnny Horgan as head of investment for its Irish business. Horgan will join the firm after Christmas as head of capital markets, from Irish Life. He replaces investment director Caroline McCarthy who left to become chief investment officer of Green REIT in September.

Brault moves to AEW Europe

AEW Europe has appointed Raphael Brault as head of separate accounts and funds. Based in Paris, he will be a member of AEW’s investment and executive committees reporting to chief investment officer Rob Wilkinson. Brault was previously at Acofi-Alms, where he launched its debt fund and before that he worked at Morgan Stanley in France.
