Brightstar Financial, a UK-based specialist lender, has launched a new division called Sirius Private Clients that will focus on financings for high net worth (HNW) residential and commercial real estate transactions.

Based out of Brightstar’s London offices, the Sirius team will work with clients seeking financial arrangements of £1 million or more on UK properties through buy-to-let, residential and commercial mortgages, development and bridging loans.

The new division is headed by director Robert Collins, who also heads up the commercial and development finance team at Brightstar. He has worked in the finance sector for 25 years as a principle lender and a commercial finance broker.

“The current property market, particularly in London, is in a state of flux as new tax rules and Brexit take effect,” said Collins. “We feel that the time is right to offer this specialist service as clients and intermediaries look for the best funding solutions in this changing market.”

Brightstar focuses on specialist residential and buy-to-let mortgages, second-chance mortgages, bridging finance, commercial finance and development finance and, on its website, claims to assist in situations “that may be proving difficult to place with mainstream lenders”.
